Paris Saint-Germain have been dealt a significant setback ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich, with both Achraf Hakimi and goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier ruled out through injury. The French club confirmed that both players will be unavailable for several weeks due to thigh problems.
PSG travel to Munich for the decisive return leg on Wednesday night holding a narrow advantage after a dramatic 5–4 victory in the first leg at home. However, the absence of two key squad members has added to the challenge facing Luis Enrique’s side.
Hakimi sustained his injury during the first leg following a collision with Bayern defender Konrad Laimer. Although PSG had already used all their substitutions, the Morocco international continued playing despite the knock. He still contributed significantly in attack, providing the assist for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s goal.
In an official statement, PSG confirmed the extent of the right thigh injury, stating that Hakimi would be sidelined for “several weeks.” The setback rules him out of the crucial European fixture.
Further concerns emerged within days when Lucas Chevalier picked up a thigh injury during a training session. The goalkeeper had not featured since January, and his absence further limits PSG’s options in a key position. In the first leg, Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov started in goal, with Chevalier named among the substitutes.

| Player | Position | Injury | Expected absence |

Hakimi remains one of PSG’s most influential players and is also a central figure for Morocco. He was ranked sixth in last year’s Ballon d’Or standings and is expected to play a leading role for his national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The upcoming tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, beginning on 11 June. Morocco are scheduled to begin their campaign on 13 June against Brazil, following their historic run to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
Domestically, PSG continue to lead Ligue 1. After 30 matches, Luis Enrique’s side sit top of the table with 69 points, six clear of second-placed Lens.
Before travelling to Munich, PSG will face Le Havre in Ligue 1 on Saturday, as they attempt to maintain their domestic momentum while preparing for a decisive European encounter without two of their regular starters.
