Lewandowski Confirms Barcelona Exit

Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the current season, bringing his four-year spell at the club to a close. The 37-year-old Poland international’s contract expires this summer, and he has decided not to extend his stay at the La Liga side.

The striker joined Barcelona in 2022 from Bayern Munich for a reported fee of €45 million. Since arriving at Camp Nou, he has been a key figure in the club’s attacking line, making 191 appearances and scoring 119 goals across all competitions.

During his time at Barcelona, Lewandowski has won multiple honours, including three La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cups and one Copa del Rey. In the current season, he has remained influential despite squad rotation and changes in the attacking setup, scoring 18 goals in La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup combined.

Reports earlier in the year suggested that Barcelona had explored the possibility of extending his contract on reduced wages. At the same time, interest in the striker was reported from several clubs across Europe, Saudi Arabia and the United States. He ultimately chose not to renew his deal beyond the current campaign.

Barcelona are set to play their final home match of the season at Camp Nou against Real Betis on Sunday, a fixture that could mark Lewandowski’s final appearance in front of the home supporters.
