Broc Feeney kept his Supercars championship hopes alive with a dramatic victory in the penultimate race at the Adelaide grand final. Despite an engine misfire, Feeney secured the win by 16.873 seconds, with fellow finalist Chaz Mostert finishing second.
Ryan Wood slowed on the final lap to allow teammate Mostert into second place due to fuel issues. This tactical move kept Mostert just 23 points behind Feeney in the championship race. Defending champion Will Brown finished fourth, while Kai Allen of Grove Racing placed fifth.
Feeney claimed his 14th win of the season, starting from pole for a record 18th time. “The engine issue cleared itself miraculously,” Feeney said. “It would have been easy to sit in second place, but the win was crucial.”
Mostert, despite severe front-left damage to his Ford Mustang, produced a masterclass drive, moving from 12th to second.
