For the first time in history, Brazil’s national football team has secured a victory over Senegal. The hero of the match was 18-year-old forward Estevao, who gave Brazil the lead early in the game. This marked his fourth goal for the national team.
After Brazil’s 2-0 win at Emirates Stadium in London, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti praised Estevao’s pace, skill, and finishing. Ancelotti said:
“Estevao used the right wing brilliantly. His talent is incredible. At such a young age, to play with this maturity is astonishing. He influences the game and his finishing is precise. He’s a very impactful player. I am confident that Brazil’s future is safe in his hands.”
Militao-Estevao Partnership Praised
Ancelotti also highlighted the partnership between Militao and Estevao:
“I think Militao and Estevao formed an excellent duo. Militao is physically and mentally outstanding. Two years away from playing made him even more mature. Estevao is still young, and he has room for improvement, but there’s no shortage of talent in him.”
Previously, Brazil had faced Senegal twice without winning, including a 4-2 loss in 2023. Estevao’s goal and outstanding performance helped make history this time.
World Cup Preparation
Brazil has already qualified for the 2026 World Cup. Since then, Ancelotti’s squad has been playing friendlies against teams from around the world to maintain peak preparation. Last month, they played against two Asian countries, gaining mixed experiences of wins and losses. Ancelotti believes that young players are growing stronger both mentally and physically through such matches.
With Estevao’s emerging talent and the team’s consistent preparation, Brazil’s football future looks exceptionally promising.
