NEW YORK, 10 March 2025 (BSS/AFP) – Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is set to become one of the highest-paid players in NFL history after agreeing to a record-breaking $330 million contract extension, ESPN reported on Sunday.
According to reports, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive a staggering $250 million in guaranteed money as part of the six-year agreement, which will keep him with the franchise until the end of the 2030 season.
While Patrick Mahomes’ 10-year, $450 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs remains the largest contract in total value, Allen’s guaranteed $250 million surpasses the previous record of $231 million, which was secured by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The deal comes after an exceptional season in which Allen led the Bills to the AFC Championship game, only to be defeated by Mahomes and the Chiefs. The 28-year-old quarterback delivered a phenomenal campaign, registering 41 total touchdowns—28 passing, 12 rushing, and one receiving—while steering the Bills to 12 games with 30 or more points, a feat that tied for the second-most in a single season in NFL history.
Under the new terms, Allen will earn an average of $55 million per season, making him the second-highest-paid player in the league, behind Prescott, who commands an annual salary of $60 million.
Allen’s deal underscores the escalating financial stakes in the NFL, where elite quarterbacks continue to command unprecedented contracts. The agreement also solidifies Buffalo’s commitment to building a championship-winning team around their star player, as they look to capture their first-ever Super Bowl title.
