Chambers Earns Formula E Miami Debut

Chloe Chambers has taken another significant step in her rapidly evolving career, securing an opportunity to sample Formula E machinery during the championship’s rookie free practice session at the Miami E-Prix. The 21-year-old American, who concluded her second and final season in F1 Academy with an impressive third-place finish in 2025, will take to the track with Mahindra Racing — a familiar environment that reflects her growing standing within the electric single-seater paddock.

Chambers earned the invitation following an outstanding performance at Formula E’s official women’s test in October 2025. Driving for Mahindra on that occasion, she set the fastest time of the day with a lap of 1m22.767s, immediately marking herself out as a driver capable of adapting quickly to the unique demands of Formula E. That showing proved decisive, paving the way for her first competitive appearance in a Formula E weekend.

The rookie free practice session is scheduled for Friday 30 January at 14:30 local time, ahead of the Miami E-Prix. Lasting 40 minutes, the session is designed to give emerging talents and drivers from other championships valuable seat time in the GEN3 Evo car, the most advanced and powerful machine Formula E has produced to date. For Chambers, it represents both a reward for past performances and a chance to demonstrate her potential on a high-profile stage.

Her return to Mahindra Racing has been warmly received by fans, with social media quickly filling with messages of encouragement and anticipation. Chambers herself expressed clear enthusiasm, thanking the team for entrusting her with another opportunity and looking forward to experiencing the GEN3 Evo in representative conditions.

Chambers’ journey to this point has been marked by breadth as well as consistency. She began karting at just seven years of age and progressed rapidly, winning the Kid Kart Championship a year later. Since then, her career has spanned a wide range of categories, including Formula 4 United States, the W Series, the Formula Regional Oceania Championship, the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and the Formula Winter Series. Alongside her F1 Academy campaigns, she has also gained valuable experience in higher-powered machinery through Formula 3 testing outings at Magny-Cours in 2022 and Silverstone in 2024.

Further underlining her credentials, Chambers is represented by A14 Management, the company founded by two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso. That association reflects the regard in which she is held and her potential to progress into the upper echelons of international single-seater racing.

While the Miami session is officially classified as practice, its importance should not be underestimated. Strong performances in rookie outings have often led to further Formula E opportunities, whether in testing, simulator roles or future race seats. For Chambers, this latest step is less about immediate results and more about demonstrating adaptability, technical feedback and composure — qualities that have defined her rise so far.
