Who needs what tonight?
Real Madrid, the competition’s most successful club, will secure direct qualification if they defeat Benfica away from home. Liverpool, six-time champions, can do the same by beating Qarabag at Anfield. Tottenham also control their own destiny: victory against Eintracht Frankfurt would be enough to send them straight into the last 16.
The most congested battle is in the middle of the table, where eight teams sit on 13 points between sixth and 13th place. Among them, PSG host Newcastle in a heavyweight encounter with major implications. Chelsea travel to Naples to face Napoli, who currently sit 25th and must win to keep their hopes alive.
Barcelona and Manchester City, ranked ninth and 11th respectively, still have a realistic chance of sneaking into the top eight. Both must win their matches and hope that at least one team above them drops points.
Sporting CP, Atlético Madrid, Atalanta, Inter Milan and Juventus have all guaranteed at least a play-off spot, but their final positions remain fluid. Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, are the biggest name still not assured of progression and face a tense night alongside Marseille, Leverkusen, Monaco, PSV, Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos.
