The Bangladesh national football team is gearing up to face Nepal on 13 November and India on 18 November at the Dhaka National Stadium. Both matches are crucial fixtures in the ongoing Asian Cup qualifiers, prompting the team to intensify preparations in recent weeks.
In a major boost for fans, Hamza Chowdhury, one of Leicester City’s standout players, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka tomorrow, 11 November, at 12 noon. Speaking to reporters today, team manager Amer Khan emphasised that whether Hamza will feature in the match against Nepal is entirely a decision for the head coach. Additionally, midfielder Shomit Som is set to join the squad on 11 November at midnight.
Bangladesh’s journey in the Asian Cup qualifiers has already concluded in terms of advancement. Following a 1–1 draw against Hong Kong on 14 October, the team finished its first four matches with two draws and two losses. The upcoming clash against India will mark Bangladesh’s fifth and final qualifying match.
Currently, the National Stadium is hosting the Asian Archery Championship, forcing the national football team to shift their practice sessions to the Kings Arena. Despite this, preparations continue with intensity as the squad looks to fine-tune strategy, fitness, and team coordination ahead of the high-stakes matches.
Bangladeshi football fans are hopeful that Hamza’s arrival will inject fresh energy, skill, and confidence into the squad, especially in these pivotal encounters against Nepal and India. His presence is expected to be a morale booster and could play a decisive role in shaping Bangladesh’s performance on the pitch.
