Raspadori Joins Serie A Side Atalanta

Italian international forward Giacomo Raspadori has completed a surprising move to Atalanta, just six months after joining Atlético Madrid. The striker’s return to Serie A marks a fresh chapter in his career, as he seeks more regular playing time and a chance to reinvigorate his form.

In an official statement, Atalanta confirmed:
“Giacomo Raspadori is our seventh signing for the 2025–26 season. The Nerazzurri have finalised his permanent transfer from Atlético Madrid.”

While the transfer fee has not been officially disclosed, Italian media reports suggest it is approximately €22 million. This comes after Atlético Madrid reportedly paid between €22–26 million to acquire Raspadori in August 2025. During his brief spell in Spain, the forward made 15 appearances, scoring just two goals, neither of which came in La Liga. He was in the starting XI for a league match on only one occasion.

Raspadori emerged from the Sassuolo youth academy and played for Napoli between 2022 and 2025, helping the club secure two Serie A titles. Across all competitions for Napoli, he made 109 appearances, scoring 18 goals.

Both his former clubs, Sassuolo and Roma, had reportedly expressed interest in re-signing the forward before Atalanta completed the deal. Internationally, Raspadori has scored 11 goals in 45 appearances for Italy, demonstrating his proven ability at the highest level.

Raspadori joins Atalanta at a pivotal moment. The club appointed Raffaele Palladino as head coach in November, and under his guidance, Atalanta has climbed the Serie A table. Once 13th in the league, the team has now won three consecutive matches, rising to seventh place.
