Rodrygo’s Extended Goal Drought at Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has been goalless for a significant period. His last goal came nearly nine months ago, during the Champions League round of 16 against Atlético Madrid. Since then, he has played 30 matches without scoring.

On Sunday, he entered the field as a substitute in the 72nd minute against Girona in La Liga but was unable to score. This places him alongside teammate Mariano Díaz in the list of players with the longest goal droughts in Real Madrid history. Out of the 30 matches, he started 13 and was a substitute in 17, contributing only 3 assists for the club during this period.

Coach Alonso still has faith in Rodrygo, but without goals, he may face leaving the club soon. In total, Rodrygo has scored 68 goals in 285 appearances for Real Madrid.
