Smriti Mandhana’s Wedding Postponed—Family Illness Sparks Speculation

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal were set to marry on 23 November in Sangli, Maharashtra. However, the wedding was postponed when Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell ill and was admitted to hospital. The next day, Palash also required hospitalisation.

A spokesperson confirmed the wedding has been delayed due to these emergency health concerns. Although both have now been discharged, no new wedding date has been announced.

Following the postponement, social media buzz has increased. Smriti deleted all wedding-related posts on Instagram, keeping only casual photos with Palash. Both have added the ‘eye’ emoji in their Instagram bios, hinting that the relationship remains intact despite speculation.

Controversy has also surrounded Palash. Screenshots shared by a woman named Mary Desouza allege infidelity on his part. Neither Palash nor Smriti have commented.

As a key member of India’s Women’s World Cup-winning team, this should have been a celebratory period for Smriti. But personal and family circumstances have taken a toll on her. Fellow cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues has decided to skip the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in support.

Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, expressed optimism:

“They are both going through a tough time… everything will be fine, and the wedding will happen very soon.”

Despite reassurances, speculation continues to circulate online.
