Tohid Hridoy Explains Why Bangladesh Couldn’t Chase 182

Chittagong’s batting-friendly wicket wasn’t enough to help Bangladesh chase down 182 against Ireland, as the home team suffered another T20 defeat. This marked Bangladesh’s fourth consecutive T20 loss at this venue.

Batsman Tohid Hridoy pointed out that poor execution of plans, rather than poor batting alone, caused the defeat. “If we had built a 70–80 run partnership, the scenario could have been different. Execution from the start wasn’t perfect,” he said.

Bangladesh lost three wickets in a single over, with Shakib, Rishad, and Nasum dismissed in Humphries’ 13th over. Hridoy held one end and scored 83 runs.

He added that cricket is a team game, and he has no regrets about batting in the middle order. Despite recent losses, Hridoy remains confident the team can recover in upcoming matches.
