Two Cities, Five Matches, One Epic Battle: India Ready for Sri Lanka

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed that India Women will host Sri Lanka Women for a five-match T20I series from 21 to 30 December. The first two matches will take place at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, while the remaining three will be held at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

India last played a T20I series in July, when they defeated England 3–2 in an enthralling contest. Their top performers—Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma—were crucial in securing the series victory.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have been out of T20I action since March. Their last assignment was a three-match series against New Zealand, which ended 1–1 due to a washout in the final match. The lack of recent match practice could be a challenge for them.

This series is crucial for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup. India will be aiming to test new combinations and give youngsters some exposure. Sri Lanka will want to rebuild confidence and rediscover their rhythm.
