The four-day Rupayan Armed Forces Day Cup Golf Tournament concluded in a festive atmosphere at the scenic Jalshiri Golf Club in the capital. Sponsored by Rupayan Group, the inaugural edition of the event saw remarkable participation, drawing nearly 600 golfers and awarding prizes across 19 competitive categories, along with an additional special recognition award.

The closing and prize-giving ceremony took place on Saturday (22 November), attended by distinguished guests, senior military officials, sports personalities and representatives of Rupayan Group.

The chief guest, Major General A.K.M. Rezaul Majid (Retd.), the founding President of Jalshiri Golf Club, praised the club’s rapid transformation from a conceptual plan to an elite golfing destination. He reflected on its early development—land filling, tree planting, and green-field creation—crediting the combined effort of the initiating team.

Rupayan Group Co-Chairman Mahir Ali Khan Ratul was present as special guest. In his address, he highlighted Rupayan’s long-standing commitment to sports:
“From football and hockey to cricket, and now golf—Rupayan has always supported the country’s sporting landscape. Jalshiri Golf Club’s green environment is exceptional, and we are pleased to be part of this initiative. Our involvement will continue.”

He added that Rupayan has already delivered major development projects, including the country’s first satellite town in Narayanganj and the landmark Rupayan City Uttara, welcoming all to visit these model communities.

Other attendees included senior members of Rupayan Group, advisors, former military officers, renowned sports figures and media representatives.
