FIFA World Cup Trophy Set To Reach Bangladesh

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws ever closer, the world’s most prestigious football trophy is preparing to make a highly anticipated stop in Bangladesh. Organised by Coca-Cola, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will arrive in Dhaka on 14 January, offering the nation’s football enthusiasts an extraordinary chance to witness the iconic trophy up close. This landmark event promises to ignite excitement and immerse local fans in the exhilarating spirit of the World Cup.

Mickael Vigne, Vice President of Global Assets, Influencers, and Partnerships at Coca-Cola, remarked, “Through the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, we are thrilled to bring fans closer to the very heart of the game. This tour presents a unique opportunity to experience the passion, energy, and exhilaration of football in an up-close and personal way.” He further added, “The emotions, anticipation, and intensity experienced during a football match are exactly what we hope to celebrate by bringing the trophy directly to Bangladesh.”

The trophy’s global tour will see it visiting 30 FIFA member countries, stopping at 75 locations over the course of approximately 150 days. Supporters in each host country will have the rare privilege of seeing the coveted trophy firsthand, strengthening their connection to the tournament and its rich history.

FIFA’s Chief Business Officer, Romy Gai, highlighted the significance of the event: “The FIFA World Cup Trophy is recognised worldwide as the ultimate symbol of football excellence. Our long-standing partnership with Coca-Cola allows fans to experience the excitement and emotion of the World Cup more directly than ever before. This year’s tour is particularly special as it marks the 20th anniversary of the Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. Over the past twenty years, the trophy has visited 182 of FIFA’s 211 member countries.”

In Bangladesh, Coca-Cola has launched an interactive ‘Under the Cap’ promotional campaign, enabling fans to win tickets to see the trophy and capture memorable photographs with it. Participants must purchase a 1-litre promotional pack, scan the QR code on the bottle, submit a unique code online, and answer a World Cup-themed quiz. The fastest correct responses each hour will win exclusive trophy-viewing tickets.

Furthermore, the tour incorporates environmentally conscious initiatives, including packaging collection, recycling efforts, and other sustainable practices, emphasising the importance of eco-friendly engagement.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the largest tournament in history, taking place for the first time across three nations—United States, Mexico, and Canada. With the most teams participating and the highest number of matches ever, the arrival of the trophy in Bangladesh promises to provide football fans with an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, bringing the thrill, prestige, and magic of the World Cup directly to their doorstep.
