Mirpur Golf Club Hosts Spectacular Opening of Armed Forces Day Cup

The first Rupayan Armed Forces Day Cup Golf Tournament officially kicked off at the Jalsiri Golf Club in Dhaka on Saturday, 22 November, under the patronage of Rupayan Group. The opening ceremony saw balloon releases by Major General Md. Hasanuzzaman, President of Jalsiri Golf Club, and Mahir Ali Khan Ratul, Co-Chairman of Rupayan Group.

Following the ceremonial balloon release, attendees participated in a group photo session. Major General Hasanuzzaman and Mahir Ali Khan Ratul then hit the first balls on the course, formally inaugurating the tournament.

The President of Jalsiri Golf Club expressed gratitude to Rupayan Group for their sponsorship, stating, “Rupayan has always supported our club’s development. We hope this partnership continues and extends to other projects at Jalsiri, maintaining high standards in design and construction.”

Major General Hasanuzzaman added, “The natural beauty of Jalsiri Golf Club makes it unique and highly appealing. Many golfers prefer this course due to its scenic layout and excellent facilities.”

Mahir Ali Khan Ratul highlighted the enthusiastic response from golfers, saying, “This inaugural event has generated immense interest. The carefully designed course at Jalsiri, combined with the environment in East Chattogram, has attracted both golfers and spectators. Rupayan Group aims to contribute to sports and residential development in Bangladesh, and this sponsorship reflects that commitment. We plan to continue supporting similar initiatives in the future.”

Other dignitaries present included Brigadier General Jamilur Rahman, Vice President of Jalsiri Golf Club, retired CEO Lt Colonel Arif Ahmed Belal, advisors Abdul Gaffar and Brigadier General Ahsan Habib (Ret.), CEO Brigadier General ABM Salauddin (Ret.), and Director of Operations Lieutenant Colonel Kabiruddin Ahmed (Ret.).
