After just three months, the romantic relationship between Barcelona’s Spanish forward Lamine Yamal and Argentine singer Niki Nicole has come to an end. According to Spanish entertainment journalist Javi Whoos, Yamal himself has confirmed the breakup. Recently, rumours surfaced linking the young football star with Italian influencer Anna Genosso, and shortly thereafter news of the split between Nicole and Yamal emerged.
However, Yamal has denied any allegations of infidelity, as Whoos reports. To clarify the matter, the Barcelona star reportedly reached out directly to the journalist. Whoos stated, “Lamine Yamal told me about his breakup with Niki Nicole. This is not a recent development. There has been no infidelity or betrayal in the relationship.”
The initial controversy arose following Yamal’s recent trip to Milan, Italy. According to a Spanish tabloid, Yamal was spotted with Italian influencer Anna Genosso during a short stay in the city. He was accompanied by family and friends on the private jet. One of Yamal’s friends, named Sohaib, shared a clip that allegedly corresponds with a video Genosso posted from the Armani Hotel. This sparked a wave of accusations from some quarters, claiming Yamal had been unfaithful to Nicole.
Addressing the rumours, Yamal told Javi Whoos during a RTVE programme, “There is no ongoing relationship between us, nor is there any infidelity involved. We have naturally chosen to part ways. The recent information circulating about our relationship is incorrect. I have done nothing to betray trust, and I am not involved with anyone else.” He even claimed that the split had been finalised before the Milan trip.
Meanwhile, Niki Nicole has not commented publicly on the matter but has removed photos with Yamal from her Instagram account. On the other hand, the Spanish forward posted two Instagram stories—one showing a sombre expression and another in which he is smiling. These incidents coincided with intense scrutiny of the 18-year-old following Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clásico. One of his remarks during that period drew widespread criticism from the Madrid club.
Even more concerning for Yamal is his injury, which is expected to prevent him from participating in Barcelona’s upcoming match. Addressing the situation, Barcelona coach Xavi Flick said, “He is doing well. He has been experiencing some discomfort for a few days, but he is improving gradually, which is important. I have spoken to Lamine. I am always ready to protect and support him. He is young and extremely talented…we will get through this together.”
