The Hurricanes entered the final three overs needing 19 runs with four wickets in hand—a position many expected them to negotiate comfortably given their form. Gardner, who had conceded 34 runs in her first three overs, was entrusted with the ball in this crucial juncture. What followed was a masterclass in composure and skill.
