Women’s Development Cup Hockey Set to Begin Tomorrow

Dhaka, 10 March 2025 (BSS): The BRAC Bank Women’s Development Cup Hockey tournament is set to commence tomorrow at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the capital.

The tournament, organised by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation, will be inaugurated by the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, who will attend as the chief guest.

A total of 11 teams—10 district teams along with Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP)—will compete in the tournament, with teams divided into two groups.

Participating Teams:

  • Group A: Dinajpur, Jessore, Chattogram, Patuakhali, Rajshahi
  • Group B: BKSP, Jhenaidah, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Cumilla, Kishoreganj

The Women’s Development Cup is part of Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to promote hockey among female athletes at the grassroots level. This tournament provides a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and paves the way for future national and international representation.
