Arsenal have delivered an exciting surprise for their supporters by securing a contract with two exceptionally talented young players from Latin America. The Gunners have reached an agreement to sign Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle.
According to ESPN, the 16-year-old duo are currently in London this week. After completing formalities, including signing contracts, an official announcement is expected in due course. The twins will join Arsenal in August 2027, upon reaching the age of 18.
Although the full terms of the deal have not been officially disclosed, this move underscores Arsenal’s commitment to recruiting the best young talent for the club’s next generation. Last October, the club confirmed the signing of another 16-year-old prospect, Victor Ozhiyanvunu, who will join Arsenal from Shamrock Rovers in January 2027, once he turns 18.
Arsenal have been monitoring the Ecuadorian twins for nearly a year. Edwin Quintero operates primarily as a right-sided attacker, a rapid winger drawing comparisons to Brazilian superstar Neymar, while his brother Holger plays in an advanced midfield role.
The club’s academy scouting network has been pivotal in securing these talents, building on previous successes. Notable examples include Miles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and Sabs Max Dorman, all of whom were scouted and integrated into the first team.
Max Dorman, who will turn 16 later this month, has already featured in the Premier League and Champions League wearing the Arsenal jersey. Last month, he became the youngest player in history to make a Champions League debut for Arsenal when he appeared as a substitute against Slavia Prague, highlighting the club’s continued commitment to nurturing prodigious talent.
