Real Madrid Father and Son Ejected from Stadium for El Clasico Celebration
What was meant to be an unforgettable 18th birthday gift turned into a bitter ordeal for a dedicated football fan and his son. Traveling all the way from Slovakia to experience the magic of an El Clasico match in person, František Vavrek and his son Denis instead found themselves ejected from the stadium stands. Prominent Spanish sports daily Marca brought this shocking incident to light after Vavrek came forward with his distressing account of events that unfolded during the high-profile fixture.
The Slovakian father had meticulously planned the pilgrimage to Barcelona’s historic ground to celebrate his son reaching adulthood. Securing two match tickets required a substantial financial investment of €2,800, roughly translating to hundreds of thousands of local currency equivalent. However, the trouble began long before a ball was even kicked. According to Vavrek’s testimony, stadium security personnel instructed them to strip off their Real Madrid jerseys upon entry. When the supporters asked where they were supposed to dispose of or store their club shirts, staff members allegedly pointed dismissively toward a rubbish bin.
Refusing to disrespect their beloved club, Vavrek told his son that they would never throw their colours into a waste receptacle. They managed to slip past initial checks wearing their shirts and spent the opening hour of the match taking in the atmosphere. The turning point arrived when French superstar Kylian Mbappé found the back of the net. Overcome with emotion, the father and son stood up and embraced to celebrate the breakthrough goal. That brief, peaceful expression of joy instantly triggered a heavy-handed response from the surrounding security detail.
Vavrek firmly maintained that they did not engage in any aggressive behaviour, direct verbal abuse, or provocative actions toward the home supporters. They simply stood up and shared a hug in celebration of their team scoring. Despite their peaceful conduct, security officials forced them out of the seating bowl. Although staff initially claimed they could return to the stands if they discarded their shirts, that promise was quickly revoked. Following a tense interrogation by local police officers, the pair were escorted off the premises entirely.
Denied entry for the remainder of the fixture, the father and son ultimately had to watch the conclusion of the match on a mobile phone screen while sitting inside a taxi parked outside the stadium. Fortunately, their immense sacrifice did not go unrewarded on the pitch. Driven by Mbappé’s sensational brace, Real Madrid secured a vital 2-1 victory over their fierce arch-rivals. As of now, Barcelona club officials have not released an official statement addressing the serious allegations made by the Slovakian supporter.
