Hamza Choudhury, the star midfielder of Bangladesh’s national football team, was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 12:00 PM today. However, due to missing his originally booked flight, he will now be arriving later than expected.
According to team manager Amer Khan, Hamza is now expected to land in the country around 5:00 PM this afternoon. A source from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed that Hamza was unable to reach the airport on time, resulting in him missing the flight. The Leicester City player later booked a new ticket and will now be arriving a few hours later than planned.
Hamza is travelling to Bangladesh to join the national team ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Nepal on November 13 and India on November 18, both of which will take place at the National Stadium in Dhaka.
Hamza made his debut for Bangladesh in the red and green jersey on March 25, 2023, in Shillong against India. Since then, he has played five matches for the national team, scoring two goals and providing one assist to a teammate.
On October 14, Bangladesh’s hopes of qualifying for the Asian Cup were dashed after a 1-1 draw against Hong Kong. Under coach Javier Cabrera, Bangladesh has drawn two and lost two of their four qualifying matches so far. This month, the match against India will be their fifth qualifier in the campaign.
