DHAKA, 14 March 2025 (BSS) – The Independence Day WALTON International Rating Chess Tournament is set to commence tomorrow (Saturday) at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room in the capital, according to a press release.
The competition is open to all chess enthusiasts, providing an opportunity for both seasoned players and emerging talents to participate. The tournament will follow a nine-round Swiss-league format, ensuring a competitive and engaging contest among participants.
A total cash prize of BDT 150,000, along with Walton merchandise, will be awarded to the winners. This annual event not only celebrates the spirit of Independence Day but also serves as a platform for chess players to improve their international ratings and showcase their strategic prowess.
